Dedicated to Lord Hanuman, this temple near the Imphal river is a famous place of worship for the Hindu population of the state. Located in a dense jungle with a large number of monkeys, this temple aptly has Hanuman as its deity. Before you step in the premise of the temple, you will see rows of flower sellers at the gate. After buying some flowers to offer to the deity, enter the temple and you will be greeted with a large congregation hall, facing towards the shrine. An idol of Hanuman is inside the shrine and if you look around, you will see monkeys everywhere- on top of the temple and on trees nearby. Now, that's sounds like the temple has been blessed by Lord Hanuman himself.

The 19th-century Sri Govindaji Temple is built with brick and Burma teak,and has a double domed shikhara originally plated with gold. After the British conquest of Manipur in 1891, the gold leaf on the dome was sold in a public auction.The main deity of the temple is carved out of a jackfruit tree. On one side of the temple is a pond, which has an elevated spot. This spot is where the replica footprints of Lord Krishna has been cemented. The main deity of the temple is Radha Govinda and is flanked by Balabhadra and Subhadra on one side.On the other side, Krishna and Balaram graces the temple. The temple's large hall or mandap is a spot for the celebration of various Hindu festival from time to time.
